This Ferrocerium rod and steel curated by Stephanie Bale of Sustainable Life (and one of our course leaders). The 6 inch ferro rod allows for long strokes and lots of focused spark generation and the hexagonal shape means more surface area  in contact with the steel and more sparks. This means that this tool is particularly good for teaching young adults/kids and those with dexterity and fine motor issues. We tried and tested so many different fire lighting designs and this is the only one we found that produced reliable and easy results from our course participants that otherwise struggled with traditional fire lighting tools. That’s why we decided to stock this custom Fire striker for our customers to have their own to use and practice with.
